Of zombies and breaks
Dec. 31st, 2010 12:11 pmI am pleasantly surprised with Dead Rising 2. It looked like a big improvement from the first, but since I never really got into DR1, I wasn't that excited for the release. My brother got it for Christmas and since he hasn't felt like touching it much, I've been messing around in it and holy hell is it awesome. I think the only thing that'd make it better is split screen co-op, but I think that should be on most games anyway. They got rid of everything that was annoying about the first game and then made it better. The lack of photography is saddening, but making combo weapons more than makes up for it.
Other than gaming and relaxing, I haven't been doing much this break. They didn't need me at work and while that means no money, I am relieved since it means I do not have to spend my days working with small children and can get scholarships/REU applications filled out. I want to do something more interesting this summer and related to after college so I can stop worrying about it so much.

Oct. 14th, 2010 06:51 pmWhoa. I hadn't realized how long it'd been since I updated this thing until I got an e-mail in my inbox about nudgings and stuff. Sorry, doods. :(
Not much out of the ordinary has been going on. Worked fulltime over the summer, came back to Denton in August for school, and currently taking 14 credit hours. Biology sucks and Roman Civ is awesome. RvB triology ended a couple weeks back and it rocked. Got Halo Reach recently and I now desperately wish my modem thingy would let my 360 hardwire onto the internet because I would totally play that game on Live. Got back into Ragnarok Online recently, which does not bode well for me being productive. About to head out to CiCi's for dinner, and... that's about it, I guess. In a nutshell, anyway.
So. What up, flist?

Apr. 22nd, 2010 07:09 pmSomehow, I stumbled upon Tegaki again. And of course I made the mistake of looking through the Sonic section. That led me to look back on some old RP things and well, I've come to the conclusion that I miss playing Rouge. There was just something about her that was fun to play. I don't know if I want to mess with playing her in an actual game, though.
Blargh, I should really not be thinking about this right now. I got a paper on education I need to finish that's due tomorrow. :p

In WWII, the British had a "Crocodile" tank that was outfitted with a flamethrower.
( This cut contains a badass tank )
I hope this was at least partial inspiration for Vector having fire abilities.

Mar. 19th, 2010 07:48 pmI am not looking forward to making my schedule for next semester. It looks like I'm going to have classes M-F again and absolutely no US history classes, since I have all I need for my degree plan. It wouldn't be so bad if the history classes for the other requirements sounded interesting, but they sound blech. The only one that sounded interesting is taught by a professor I've had before and learned first hand that he is no bueno at history classes since he treats them like philosophy.
Maybe if I'm lucky, I'll wind up needing some "electives" and can take more American history classes later on. There's so many interesting ones offered next semester, too. Sigh.
Spring break kind of whirled by. I can't believe it's already Friday. A week of peace has been so nice, though I can't say I've been too productive during it.

Jan. 2nd, 2010 08:23 pmJust finished Assassin's Creed 2 with 980/1000 achievement points. I'm missing only one now and it's going to be a ho to get. I'll try to get it before I leave, but I'm not holding my breath. I've also passed Borderlands and me and my bro started on the Zombie Island DLC, which is so awesome, omg. I might try to get the other DLC they have, if I have enough Christmas money left over, since it's supposed to be a bunch of arena battles and me and my brother had a lot of fun with the sidequest ones in the game.
It's odd how accomplished I feel at my newly inflated gamerscore. XD;

Dec. 25th, 2009 02:51 pmMerry Christmas, doods. I am spending it chillin' with family and binging on the new games I got (Borderlands, which I opened early because my little sister pester like a mofo for an early present, Dragon Age Origins, and Mass Effect 2, which I'll get when it comes out). I also got a bunch of pajamas and a netbook, which will make classes next year 20x easier since I have them all back-to-back. It also has Windows 7 on it and it's so pretty, omg.
Also, a question for you all. In the future, and I mean like centuries from now, if we were to elect an alien (turian, brute, whatever) as president of Earth, would that mean we have surrendered the planet or crossed species boundaries?

Dec. 21st, 2009 08:16 pmToday sucked so much ass. I forgot how long a full work day could go and throwing a bunch of errands I had to tag along to afterward with my mom made it even longer. I've been up since 7 am and out of the house for almost twelve hours. I want to do something fun to relax, but I still have shiz to do and I'm tired and have to get up at like 5:10 am tomorrow for another day of work (which will hopefully be easier than today and involve working with less stupid people algsdgl).
WHEN DID I GET RESPONSIBILITIES. I just want to play Borderlands with my brother. 8( I've learned the joys of a scoped SMG and I want to keep shooting things in the face with it, sob.

Dec. 15th, 2009 08:44 pmAccording to my mom, I'm heading home earlier than I expected. Thursday afternoon instead of Friday, since apparently they need me to come into work on Friday. Blaaargh. At least this place is a lot more organized than the last and by the sounds of it, I'll be working only in the kitchen for the first two weeks anyway. Then it'll be time to learn about a whole new batch of children.
Finals first, then I can stress about that. I have one tomorrow and two on Thursday (one at 8 am, sob). Almost done with this semester. 8D;

Dec. 13th, 2009 08:34 pmWriting my paper on Neoliberalism is hard to do with my roommate sitting nearby and playing Oblivion. She's so silly when she plays games. I don't think I've seen anyone have this much fun pretending and messing around in a game in a long while.
I need to get this paper written, though. It's my final that's due tomorrow by 12:30 pm. All I need is a 75 on it to make an A, so at least I don't have to put that much effort in it.

Dec. 5th, 2009 10:35 pmI forgot how fast panfandom places move, Jesus. If I don't check at least once a day, I miss a lot of crap. It's a little discouraging since unlike last time I was in a big place, I don't really feel like checking and reading a bunch of entries every day. Blargh.
In other news, I have a paper due this week, one next week, and three finals coming up (since second paper counts as a final). I'd rather play Oblivion than do any of that, though. I feel so lazy.

Nov. 28th, 2009 01:40 amComing home for Thanksgiving was so refreshing. I spent approximately three hours just talking with my grandma and mom. It's so weird when I think about it because I can still remember clearly considering things we were talking about "adult conversation" when I was little and staying out of it and now, I'm right in the middle of it. So weird, but so nice.
Got my new phone today, since mine was up for renewal as of Thanksgiving. Upgraded to a Samsung Rogue, meaning full keyboard and touch screen, hell yeah. 8) Not that I'm going to use half the features the phone has, but I can valiantly try and pretend like I know what I'm doing when I mess with the more complex functions.
Heading back to my apartment tomorrow, where I will hopefully get some homework done. I also need to steal some turkey leftovers, since my mom made a gigantic bird, the sole reason being because she could. So much damn turkey leftover. I better go eat a sandwich now and do my part to reduce its numbers. 8|

Nov. 12th, 2009 09:43 pm...I'm nearing the end of my essay on feminism a lot earlier than I anticipated. I set aside this entire evening to work on finishing it, since it's due tomorrow, and now I'm not sure what to do with myself if I get it done so early. I guess I could start packing to move into my new apartment, since that's happening Saturday, but my roomie and I planned to do that together tomorrow, since we both get out of classes early.
Stupid essay, messing up my time no matter what. 8|

Attack of the RP Accounts
Nov. 10th, 2009 01:00 am...I love how whenever my birthday comes up, I get notifs from LJ about it from RP accounts I forgot even existed. When the hell did I make all of these, Jesus.
Two more days until I am 19, woot woot. It feels weird being almost done with my third semester of college (with about 6 hours shy of being classified a Junior) and being this young. :p

Nov. 1st, 2009 12:14 amProblem in aforementioned entry is solved, since unwanted guest is now gone. Kind of shot the mood for the rest of the weekend, but nothing that can be done about that now.
Good things did happen today, though. I finally saw District 9 since it came to the $2 theatre at the nearby mall and finished (the rough draft?) a paper that's due in early November. Due the Thursday before we need to move, so I figured I might as well get that out of the way. Next up, time to make a dent in all the reading I need to get done.

Oct. 24th, 2009 10:47 pmI am moving into my first apartment next month on the 15th and oh my god is it going to be awesome. *A* It's two bed room, one-and-a-half bath, washer and dryer included and all that good stuff. I'll only be paying like $300ish a month for it, too, since I'm rooming with my current roommate and her gf, so everything's split three ways.
I feel like such an adult. ♥

Oct. 16th, 2009 10:59 pmJust got back from seeing Ted's band, the Blanks, and oh my god it was amazing. It was their first live performance and it was basically comedy skits mixed in with their music. They brought in action figures and a jack-o-lantern to be their guest singers and at the end, they proclaimed they were doing the best two Christmas carols ever. The last one they did was actually She's a Maniac and they brought out a Mrs. Claus doll that danced every time they sang the chorus.
I now have a signed ticket and CD along with a red band shirt. |D

Oct. 15th, 2009 10:42 pmI don't know what it is this week, but I am having an even harder time than usual motivating myself to get any schoolwork done. I either can't focus on it for very long or my brain just shuts off and refuses to write anything. It's starting to get really annoying and I'm tempted to hit my head against the wall to see if that helps at all, since nothing else is. -o-
