Well. While sweeping and cleaning the front room and my roommate was tackling her room, we found like five spiders, one of which was a baby. My roommate and her gf have been finding small red bumps on their skin lately, too. She is now dead convinced that there is a spider infestation and that they are targeting her. Me, on the other hand, I have no bumps or bite marks or anything, but I've been designated spider killer since she's too afraid to mess with them. It's really amusing seeing her freak out whenever she spots one in her room since she like... hops away and cowers in the corner in a very exaggerated fashion.

And now she is investigating her room for potential spider entrances, haha.

EDIT: Just caught one of the buggers. It's small with a dark head, tan body and thin black horizontal stripes along it, the legs in the same style as the body. Anyone know what this is? I tried to get a picture of it, but it's too small for my camera to take a good one. :/

A little. Its body was far less intricate and the legs looked thinner.

Huh. Well, there's so much variation that it can be hard to identify a lot of small brown stripy spiders without much more detailed investigation. Regardless, like I said, if it's striped, it's harmless. In the US at least.

Yeah, I figured it was harmless anyway. I just wanted to know for my roommate's sake since finding that last spider that I caught sent her to tears and she had to go outside the dorm while I checked out her room and took care of where we thought the spiders were coming in from. XD; That bit of information has her settled, so it's all good now. Thanks. ♥

Wow. Man, being arachnophobic must really suck. Spiders are so common and 99% completely harmless, too. :D; I feel bad for the many innocent spiders who get killed for having done nothing wrong.

I've never seen someone this scared of them to this degree. I hate them and sometimes get an irrational fear of them, but not to the point where I can't kill/capture them and get them the hell away from me. And I'd feel bad for the spiders, except I strongly dislike them. :c

...Not to the point of closing up the small hole in my window that they can come in from, apparently, since I hate storms, too, and feel their pain at being stuck out in this weather. But if I see them, all bets are off, man.

I am like your roommate. I am terrified to tears of spiders. :[

When I lived at home, I would get my sister (who is 6 years younger than me) to kill them for me. Even if it was late at night and she was sleeping. XD I would wake her up. And if I am laying in bed and I think about them, I end up having to get up, rip my bedding apart and check for them. And then I can't sleep for about an hour.

Aw, poor robo child. Phobias are such crap to deal with. At least you had a brave sister to deal with the demon spiders for you. 8|

[identity profile] hyper-amychao.livejournal.com 2009-10-07 06:47 am (UTC)(link)
Yes! But now that I don't live with my sister... :( I have to man up and kill them myself.

I can do it, but it takes a lot of pep talking xD

♥♥♥

...Your roomie won't kill them for you? :c

Also, I just imagined Wyoming having trouble killing spiders, lmao. Toss a spider at him and instant defeat!

[identity profile] hyper-amychao.livejournal.com 2009-10-07 06:54 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sure she would 8D

... Only if it's a blue spider 8D

A new knight appears!

I didn't know spiders exploded, dood.

Blue spiders do, mama.

♥ Time for this robo to recharge for the night. Hasta luego~!

That is scary shit. Glad none of our spiders were blue.

Night, robo child. ♥
