I hate that my computer's clock is a minute off from the countdown they use for the new RvB episodes. It makes it seem like I'm one minute closer than I actually am. Sometimes, a sponser account looks pretty tempting.

EDIT: And now that it has been seen, so much awesome and spoilers to talk about. 8)

Once it got the page loaded, the video went smooth for me, thankfully. And I was able to get it to load for a second watch not long after it told me the site broke. 8)

I'm so excited. I bet the Meta is currently looking for clues to Church's whereabouts and oh man, Tucker is so awesome when he's badass like that.

Also, on AIM in case you wanted to talk about it there instead.

Aww, but spamming journals with comments is so much fun! And then we can look back at all our silly predictions.

BADASS TUCKER IS BADASS. I LOVE IT. And, dude, I'm wondering what the chances are that that is Church stuck in there. Although he did shoot at Donut, and Church likes Donut, so maybe not. Regardless, Simmons' reaction to seeing the Meta had me giggling for a good while. Especially since it paused just after that while loading.

That's what chatlogs are for, sheesh.

I really hope the badassery stays for a looong time. My mind was blown.

Did the Meta have that blue band on its armor before? I can't remember, but it stood out to me in this episode. The white armor made me think of Church at first, until I saw the weapon and helmet.

And Simmon's reaction to the Meta was probably my favorite part of the damn video, besides Tucker's reappearance. XD

From: [identity profile] shichahn.livejournal.com
Yeah, but those are just silly.

Yeah, he did have that blue band. That's normal. And I'm pretty sure that fooling people into thinking it was Church was the entire point of the shot where you just see his legs.

So, Meta's free, and Wash is in jail. Not good! At all! Especially if the Meta wandering around is an intentional part of the Chairman's plan or something.

From: [identity profile] shinyget.livejournal.com
Okay, wanted to make sure of that. I was going to pop in Reconstruction later if I couldn't remember by the time I finished studying.

Maybe the Chairman is using the Meta to collect all the other AIs that might be wandering around, Church included. He wasn't happy about there being more than one, after all, and having the Meta take care of it in its renewed search for the Alpha (if Church is actually wandering about and all that) would be easiest.

Date: 2009-09-08 03:10 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shichahn.livejournal.com
Possibly, yeah. Although how he hopes to control the Meta is beyond me. The only way the Director was able to influence him was by holding out the Alpha as the carrot in front of his nose. And, you know, when the carrot has a mind of its own, that gets complicated.

Date: 2009-09-08 03:11 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shinyget.livejournal.com
Yeah, though maybe he just plans to go all out on the Meta once he has the AIs and kill them all at once. I want to say the Chairman has a hand in this somehow, but it's hard with him. :/

From: [identity profile] shichahn.livejournal.com
Oh, I think he does for sure. The Meta would have been at least temporarily stunned after that EMP hit - either because of the AIs being wiped out suddenly, or because of them being taken up by Church, or whatever happened there. The fact that Wash is still alive is proof of that. Guards would have stormed into that room pretty quick and secured the two of them, and while I guess it's possible the Meta could have escaped imprisonment at some point, it seems far more likely that he was intentionally released. But until we see what happened after the EMP, I guess we can't know a whole lot for sure.

Hopefully there'll be some kind of flashback sequence or Wash/Church showing up soon to explain that event more clearly. I wonder if the Chairman wanting to see Wash has anything to do with the Meta possibly being released, too. Wash has the most experience with the Meta, so maybe they want to use him to take out the Meta if he gets to be too much trouble or outlives his use.

And man, I wonder just how fucked up the Meta has to be at this point. Not only did he have all those AIs in his head for an extended period of time along with all those enhancements (and that must have been a pimped out suit of armor since it sounded like they normally only come with one AI slot), but then to have all of them removed... Damn. Which also reminds me of how I want to know more about Wyoming's situation with Gamma removing itself from his head, but that's another story. 8|

I bet there will be, it's kind of a crucial detail. I still don't expect to see Church until the very end of this season, but I'll be pleased if I'm wrong about that.

As for Wash and the Chairman... it's interesting how Wash referred to Epsilon as "the missing piece to the puzzle", and how Epsilon is still sticking to "memory is the key." I think the Meta was sent out to retrieve Epsilon, if anything. I'm betting that Wash either doesn't know Church survived, or knows but hasn't told the Chairman - either way, all the Chairman knows is that Epsilon is still out there. When Caboose told Wash he still had it, Wash told the Chairman where it was, and the Chairman sent the Meta to collect it. Wash still wants to turn Epsilon in, I'm sure, and get justice for himself since he had to put up with all of that in his head.

I don't think there's any limit to how many AI can install in a slot, if the inside of Caboose's head is representative of the same thing. Because he's had at least three at once.

Yeah, I suspect Church and Tex will come back to star in the end series of the trilogy instead of being prominent in this season. Or at least Church will, depending on wtf is up with Tex. I still don't know what to think about her after her attitude in the trailer.

The main thing with Epsilon being the key was knowing where the Alpha was, it seemed, so it makes me wonder about what else that piece of AI is important for, beyond having incredibly sensitive knowledge of the program. Maybe the Chairman wants to store it away or get firsthand information on what the Freelancer Project was truly up to for the court case against the Director.

That confused me recently, too, since I was under the impression that there was one AI slot in their armor and at the time they did that, sure they were 'ghosts' until they decided things later. You're probably right, it just must put more and more strain on the user and all that.

Pffff, except it wasn't transparent, so it couldn't possibly have been Church, n00b. I was like... wtf Wyoming? o_O

Date: 2009-09-08 03:27 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shinyget.livejournal.com
He wasn't transparent in the trailer. ;D

Date: 2009-09-08 05:13 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] zolac-no-miko.livejournal.com
WELL HE SHOULD BE.

Date: 2009-09-08 03:33 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shichahn.livejournal.com
Yeah, noob. TRAILER. Which, okay, who knows what's going on there, really.

Date: 2009-09-08 05:14 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] zolac-no-miko.livejournal.com
Yeah, okay, obviously I remembered that wrong. Seriously though. Wtf. ...He may not be transparent, but he's obviously invisible.

Date: 2009-09-08 05:27 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shichahn.livejournal.com
Yeah, something odd is going on there. Oh well. We'll get an explanation eventually.

Date: 2009-09-08 02:57 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shinyget.livejournal.com
PS. This makes me want to work the Meta somehow into the future AU. He could make a nice plot device or something, man.

Date: 2009-09-08 03:04 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shichahn.livejournal.com
I suppose so, somehow.

Date: 2009-09-08 03:07 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shinyget.livejournal.com
Only problem would be NPCing him, sob. I am imagining awesome scenes of having to move Church place-to-place while he's still recovering because the Meta is picking up their trail.

Date: 2009-09-08 03:08 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shichahn.livejournal.com
Ehh, Church will be fine soon enough. Well. "Fine" is a relative term. But he doesn't need to be dragged around.

Date: 2009-09-08 03:09 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shinyget.livejournal.com
Oh good. At least he won't be deadweight for long. |D

Date: 2009-09-08 03:14 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shinyget.livejournal.com
When you get time, we should try to get those other headcanon threads done, too, or at least think of how the crap to start them. ...Which is hard, since now my mind is on the 'present'/future.

Date: 2009-09-08 03:21 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shichahn.livejournal.com
Ehh, eventually, yeah. It would be good to have at least a couple more things decided on their history before we get Aphelion up and running. Which will be relatively soon, I think. Angela and I got a bunch done last night. We're getting close.
